Because every time I see a Porsche 911, anywhere in the world, it dazzles me and it's like seeing a Rolex Daytona, which in both cases does not matter the year but the sensation of seeing it is spectacular and incredible, and they irradiate a special energy

I'll agree enthusiastically with your emotional response to the 911. But the Daytona? Sorry, but what Porsche is to sports cars, the Speedmaster is to chronographs. The Daytona has always been a follower so far as I'm concerned, and a ridiculously expensive and not very attractive follower at that.

I see fewer and fewer 70s/ 80s 911s these days. Not many are tracked anymore, and even at PCA events they are few and far between. As the values keep climbing more and more of the survivors are being cleaned up and put away.

OMG!! what's the point of the car then if it cannot be driven & enjoyed for it does best??

this is going the same way as some watches becoming "safe queens".....

(unless you go supercars but that's exactly not the point!)

It's a real shame that prices for 964s and 993s went through the roof in the past few years.

You can still find 3.2s for reasonable prices.

You need to drive or track them. I have the best value model. Nobody like the headlights but they actually look good to me.

When new, 964s were not popular among the faithful, esp. the all-wheel drive version. I think there was a run on them when the "back dating" craze began. The cars, once shorn of bumpers and cladding, make a great base for the back date. In 10 years time everyone will lament this craze.

The Boxster is so much more fun to drive. You can negotiate curves at insane speeds, it lets you know its limits in a very precise and gentle way.

I find them pretty similar to be honest. The rear weight bias of the 911 gives more grip when accelerating and can mean the front goes light at times. They really aren’t all that different though generally 911s have a bit more grunt in a given generation, I find the 3.2S Boxster for instance pretty asthmatic! I’d take a Cayman 4.0l GTS in a heartbeat though.
