the Porsches are special and the Daytonas I put them in comparison with what is related to motorsports, of course there are better watches than the Daytona, but not as representative with motorsports, except for the Heuer chronograph

The 1960s Heuer chronographs were using the same Valjoux movements as the Daytonas. But they didn't have Jackie Stewart's appearance fees added to the price 😉

i absolutely love it

these are nearly impossible to come across in argentina
and importing is an odissey

And most likely will still going up in the future for nice specimens right? Imagine what prices in my area are like…

I like to see them, track them, unfortunately in my country, they are not easy to get and they are inaccessible, but some jewels can be found

sometimes decission making is attached either to several factors and many times it s zeitgeist related. maybe in 10 years everyone will lament but in 30 can become the sought after fact

Don't overlook them just because they were later corrupted by some space peeps.

Some 911’s I’ve been lucky enough to drive or be around.

1968 IMSA racer

the yellow car is a 934 or a factory prepped 930 race car. The 935 was not actually based on the 930 and was a rework. These raced in a lower class.

This was all the rage about 4 years ago

Yes it is that car just not THE car from the video.

Yes, a 1972 Bahama yellow Targa S with the Sportmatic. It has to be the only one in existence, lots of rarity on this one.

The 4 door styling prototype about a decade before the Panamera

Yes a GT1

Find a better one... This is why it is in the museam.

Willowsprings shoots well. In person it’s ugly desert and the hills are not as dramatic. The other direction is just old buildings barely surviving not melting in the high desert.

it’s right by Edwards Airforce Base aka Murloc Air Base where they filmed the first half of the Right Stuff on the actual location of Yeagers flights.

FUN FACT turn 3 and 4 constitute the Omega an uphill and down section that looks like the Omega symbol.

I went to Leguna Seka and Sonoma back in the early 2000s to provide unskilled labor for a couple race teams. CA has some really nice tracks in some scenic settings. But definitely can be arid/ dusty. On the Sonoma trip I spent most of my time keeping the two race cars dusted so they would look nice to the event attendees strolling through the paddock.

80’s turbo look. Almost exactly my neighbors car that made me love the 911. Only difference was instead of black Fuchs they had dark grey color matched Fuchs.

sometimes it is difficult to choose between almost twin brothers
The Cayman has a modern design that escapes the spirit of the 911 1960s design.

Agree, whether manual or automatic, the pleasure of driving a 911 has no comparison due to its central engine, it makes it sensual and aggressive.

Total motorsports connection, design, functionality and top pilot related
And also it s extremely nice

these 2 cars are incredible, each one for its features that are advanced for its time of manufacture, but for daily use I also prefer a pdk

Sauber/Bmw must have some talent to be in this top ten

It was the Sauber C7, powered by the BMW M88 engine, same basic engine that would power the M1 and M1 Procars.

super car the bmw m1, in my country today a single copy and belonged to a great driver, Jorge Cupeiro.

Jorge Cupeiro was one of the 6 members of the Torino team that competed in the mythical Nurburgring Race, in 1969, when led by the five-time Formula 1 Champion Juan Manuel Fangio, he made this epic possible, for an Argentine team, with a Car, designed and built in my country,
Of the 3 Cars after 84 hours that the race lasted, only one arrived in 4 fourth position.
and everyone was amazed by the performance of the car, the mechanics of the official Mercedes Benz team asked Juan Manuel Fangio about the brake system and the quintuple Campion
He had a break system taken out of the car and gave it as a present
Gave it as a present to
The mercedes benz mechanical team. They had a long term relationship as his last f1 championship he won with that brand

So as I stated earlier in the thread I have never owned or drove a porsche but always appreciated them from afar as my Uncle has owned multiple over the years.

Well that all changed yesterday as he let me drive his most recent 996 Carrera.

Regarding the enthusiasm surrounding porches, someone told me a long time ago "you don't get it until you drive one."

Well I get it now. The car was just SO MUCH fun to drive. I was like a little kid again. The responsiveness of the car when you hit the gas is instantaneous. It stayed so planted taking turns that I thought I was going 25mph, would proceed to look down at the speedometer and it would be over 60.

From what my uncle told me, this car is 320hp and weights about 2,940lbs.

In 2010, he owned a more rare car, a 997 GT3. What amazed me is the weight of the car stayed the same however the HP bumped up to 400. Its crazy because I couldn't fathom driving something faster than what I drove yesterday.

Here is a picture- dont mind me.. different times LOL.

Had a 930 at our Tech Session this morning. Car is 40 years old and the currently owner has owned it for 37 years. Completely different beast than the much more recent GT2 variants. The owner is talking about putting it up for sale; they go for stupid money these days!

Different how? I have never driven a boosted 911.
I know the the GT2's were always referred to as the "widow-maker".
But I imagine the 930's are just as sketchy. As in, when the boost comes on, it comes on hard!
And what 911 ISN'T going for stupid money these days lol.
