Ever hallucinated a model of Omega watch and been convinced it was real?

I was writing something and started going on about this titanium Speedmaster, with a traditional subdial layout, either a Cal 1861 or Cal 3313/3306 in titanium with a blue bezel and dial, and I was absolutely certain that it existed and that I had seen one of the damned things. But after hours of searching online I can only guess that it was a figment of my imagination the whole time, which is odd because I’ve even mentioned it to collectors in the past and had them go “Oh yea I like that one too”.

I legitimately thought it was something between the Solar Impulse 321.90.44.52.01.001 and the 311.90.44.51.03.001 Cal 9300… but apparently it was all just a hallucination and it never existed at all.

If only I could manifest into my watch box.

What more often happens to me is I see a wierd 90's era piece that I think there is no way that can be real...

It’s called wishful thinking

Yep.

In the past three years I've experienced regular hallucinations of a curious and persistent kind: that an Omega I've long had a deposit on has miraculously found its way onto my wrist.

Then I wake up, and check my email...

I was sure there was a 2nd gen Planet Ocean GMT with an orange alu bezel, but it was just a sample model that aBlogtoWatch reviewed that Omega later decided not to produce. I just happened to have read the article a while back and never looked into it again. Damn shame!

Yea there have definitely been a few Baselworld releases in years long ago that were demonstrated but never made it to production, there are also some prototypes that ended up being changed a lot before production like the Aventurine Speedmaster Moonphase which had a rather unique ridged bracelet design that never saw its way into customer hands

I hallucinated that Daniel Craig was wearing a white dial speedy and I read about it on Fratello. Crazy
