Anyone have enough experience with vintage Eternas to know what a fair price for a watch like this would be? https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-G...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
That's not bad, in terms of overall value, but clearly some issues there. Main one is the dial, but it's also overpolished. You can get one in better condition for just a bit more (600 or so), and if you're very lucky, perhaps even a Kontiki (which is more collectible, fwiw) for a bit more than that (700-900).
It is, on some models, apparently . . . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAG-E...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Then get a different movement picture from the seller where you can see the difference to the normal version....
I'll be more critical: poor value. Poor dial, incorrect crown, overpolished, etc. Find a much better example, and spend a bit more.
Our tastes may differ so, taking that into account, I don’t particularly care for the style and appearance of your prospective purchase. In addition the dial is in poor condition. I’ve added a photo of yours so anyone reading this thread can see what I mean. I don’t know a lot about Eterna but, in general, the 60s/70s models have crisp and clean, uncluttered dials. Again a photo, of my Eternamatic 1000, to give an example I suggest that you pass on this one and change your search to Eterna 1000, Eterna 3000 and 3003 (of course there are other models) and you will find cleaner examples at lower prices (certainly on eBay). (I bought the one above, about 6 months ago, from a dealer in Brazil for a negotiated £120 although I think I did rather well.)
This isn’t a chronometer, is from Brazil but isn’t £120, but if I was into Eternas I’d be in the market. I have dealt with the seller btw. Totally reliable in our dealings. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-OLD...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

This search made me want more Eternas
I'm also curious if that movement goes along with the chronometer dial. If so, the price isn't outrageous if you're specifically wanting an Eterna-metic chronometer. However, like the other people posting above I don't really like the condition personally.
Hard pass for me. These cases in good condition are pretty awesome, and clean Eterna-Matic dials should be crisp, I repeat -- crisp, when untouched by moisture. Here's mine in both mellow and harsh lighting conditions. Personally, I'd rather pay ballpark €1.000 for a sharp example than half that for a half-decent example.
Thank you all for sharing! Upon closer inspection, it seems that the movement of the one I linked to may have some problems, as well. Looks like it's missing a screw and looks a bit damaged at the top of the photo.
