Eterna chronometer I am looking at

Although I like them I am not a technical expert so wondered if anyone could confirm the movement in a watch I am looking at:

there is a number there which seems to place it in the fifties but no ref. Also as it is a chronometer can you see micro regulator?
On Ranfft database the watch number seems to put it somewhere early fifties but would expect it to be movement 1424 movement roughly. But no movement ref no. there and usually there is.

any help appreciated.

I think at this stage you just need better pictures - the movement ref should be under the balance wheel, but I'm afraid I can't see well enough in your photo whether it is or isn't. I think this could be from c.1957, and perhaps a cal 1422, but more info. is needed. I do hope you end up with a nice acquisition!

Unfortunately, I think it's very hard to judge the watch based on those photos.

Although you can see more detail using the online platform's magnifier, you really need a straight-on shot, and properly lit in-focus photos of the movement. The seller is a UK brick-and-mortar store, so you might do well to just call them and ask. Here's an example for comparison: although it's yellow and without the waffle texture, it might help you looking at the fonts. Good luck!

Definitely need better photos. Remember that waffle dials often distort the printing to some extent; don’t expect it to be as crisp as on a flat dial.

This is in the U.K. so no import tax for me. I suppose If I found one at auction anywhere with all taxes added it’s not going to be much less than £800. Asking is £1300. I asked for the Caliber ref on ebay message and he is going to look. It is a bit pricey but I don’t see these in the auctions much. What do you think on pricing? Should I just auction watch a bit better?

Yes, screw back case.
Everything looks fine as far as I can see on these pictures.
Price is on the high side.
I would not pay that amount for such a watch especially not serviced.

While £1,300 is quite a high price, I can tell you I didnt see one of these in a year of auction watching. I think this is an unusual and desirable package, and if I hadn't been saving for something else, I would have bought it weeks ago! 😉
