I would estimate value at +- $550 US. In my observations day/date watches seem to achieve less in value or price than their date only counterparts. In the case of this watch, some of the value would attributed to the bracelet.
Question to Bulldozer. Is the bracelet original to the watch? My guess is, it is not.

I think he has as it's just been listed on eBay. If he won't take a penny less than 650 it's odd to start it at 630 which is going to be circa 550 after fees if there's only one bidder.

" I have it listed well below its real value... " 🤦

What a lot of butthurt I seem to have caused among one or two folk on here. I never tried to sell it on here as I promised the moderator that I would not.
I wanted and got another assessment of the watches real value. 650 to 800 GBP.
I figured 650 plus so it confirmed my own thoughts.
I have searched through sales of this model watch on your site and they seemed to be selling around the 900 Dollar mark and my watch is in better shape than those.
Some of you must have such boring lives that you think trying to hound someone that is only asking for help is acceptable.

What I do with my property is my business and not yours, if you look deeper at the ebay (as I already told the mod before posting here)
I had already put it for auction at 650GBP for 3 days earlier and got no bids so I was checking to see if the watch was overpriced or not.
It clearly isnt as its in as good a condition model as you will find.

I decided to put it up on the bay last night for 1 day only and if it sells it sells and if not I will keep it a while longer.

A genuine thanks to those few that actually tried to advise me on the value.

Thanks for the question my watch is from 1969 or 1970 so I think the bracelet is the original 1172 but it is irrelevant now anyway, there is a guy in Japan who seems to sell these watches reconditioned in the 400 to 500 GBP range and they are not in the condition that my watch is so the ebay prices mean nothing unless you compare like with like.
The 1172 strap must be worth 150 bucks on its own as I think it is out of production, either way as its better than a leather band that you normally find on these watches.
I have checked out this site and found a couple of models that went in the 900 dollar range and my watch is at least their equal so thanks, I have my information. Have a great New Year.

I do not have any hope you idiot, I do not spend my whole life on a computer day in day out like you do so I wouldnt know if anyone was watching it or not , lol. it is not for sale out of Europe in any case so I do not know why it bothers you.
If it sells it sells, if not I will keep it a while longer, I do not need the money. Get a life and stop making yourself look stupid, there is a lot more to life than owning a watch or two.

I don't have a problem as such, it's just the obvious confirmation-bias you're showing regarding the replies. You only quote the one that agreed with your estimation and willfully ignore the other two.

Around £650-800

Just did a quick search on Ebay of completed sold listings of this model and here is what I found. Low price sold was $430 and high was $765.

I would estimate value at +- $550 US.

And if it didn't sell at 650 on a 3-day listing then it's worth less than that. Now if it doesn't sell at 650 or 630 and you personally value it at more than that and decide to keep it then that's fine. Why wouldn't it be. I think the problem is you asked for advice but you're so adamant your valuation is correct I'm not sure why you bothered.

Edit to add. Looks like you now have a couple of bids so it's going to be a good result 👍

The one thing I hope you picked up from this thread is the better the pictures the better a watches condition can be judged.

And understand what you payed from a dealer 2 years ago could still be less than what the watch is worth to a collection community now. ( Dealers have to eat but we try not to feed their kids and neighbors also 😉 )

I myself find it hard to give a value with those pictures and would give you a middle of the road quality value as I can't see that much.

Fair comment, my pics do suck but I know it is in great shape and all I wanted was a ball park figure from someone other than myself for a watch of this ones year and model.
Low and High end value for this model and year in very good condition.
650 to 800 GBPs was what I thought this watch was worth and even though I believe that my watch is at the top end of the valuation I had already valued it at 650GBP in my mind.
So thanks for your comment and I hope you and your family have a great New Year.

No what you really wanted was a sale on here because you couldn’t be bothered to take decent pictures and wanted to save the eBay fees. You saw the thread about the sales rules but figured they didn’t really apply to you. Now you are being a dick about it because the watch nerds on here didn’t all fall at your feet with offers. Jog on.

You are totally wrong in what you assume, I would never ship anything to the USA anyway as its too much hassle with Customs etc. I actually asked the mod for permission to as about my watch and he said I could so long as I did not try to sell it, which I did not.

Some members on here think it is entertaining to try and attack other posters who are obeying all the rules from behind the safety of their keyboards. I asked for advice on todays value of a watch (in top shape) similar to mine in todays market and a couple of members replied respectfully and sensibly where many others like yourself assume too much. The Mod knows the script that is why the post was not removed as I stuck to the rules and I had the decency to comply with them. So You Jog on sonny.

Why would you think you would have to ship to USA? This is an international forum, hence the estimates you received were in GBP. You may well be sincere but unfortunately we get many stealth sakes thread a week so tend to assume that is what is happening when someone posts like this particularly when they react in a punchy way. Your reasoning that eBay can’t be used for pricing certainly raises suspicions since it seems odd to denigrate that platform then list on there an hour later. That and the fact you ignored or dismissed any advice that didn’t tally with your pre-conceived assumptions rather disinclines people to help. Oh and be aware that claims of servicing without paperwork to back it up are ignored or at least treated with grave suspicion by seasoned collectors who will routinely price work into their mental evaluation. Anyhow good luck with your eBay sale. This is a great place for help and even deals but you did rather get off on the wrong foot I am afraid
