Since it is now the last few hours of 2012, it might be a good time to take a little inventory of purchases this year. I haven't really given it much thought until now:

Only a few incomings and no sales:

Universal Geneve Polerouter - Bumper Movement:

LeCoultre Memovox Golden Heritage

My collection changes little from year to year, with maybe only a piece or two changing. You could call me a "serial keeper" I guess. The only change this year was the sale of my Blancpain Leman, and the purchase of a SM300.

Here is where it stands now - sorry the group shot will have to do:

SOTC2012.jpg

L-R:

1 - Grandfather's Bulova manual wind
2 - Father's "everyday" watch - Young's store brand
3 - Vertex WWW issued
4 - CWC G10 Issued quartz
5 - Below that Bulova Snorkel on bracelet
6 - Canadian Navy issued Tudor Sub
7 - SM300 with NOS case, dial, hands
8 - Sinn 356 Fleiger II sapphire
9 - JLC Master Compressor Memovox
10 - PAM 104
11 - GO PanoReserve

I could also show you the "bag-o-watches" I have in the closet that I use for parts, but not likely much of interest there.

As you can tell, I have no real direction, so I don't really consider myself a true collector - I just buy what I like.

Cheers, Al

Nope - in fact it was only this year that I actually bought my one and only Omega. I've only owned 2 chronographs - the Sinn and the other was a vintage Elgin with a Vlajoux 7733 inside.

I'm sure there will be a Speedmaster in my collection at some point, but when I can't say. I would likely get rid of the Sinn at that point as it doesn't get a ton of wrist time as it is.

Cheers, Al

I know a few guys who would be all OVER that salmon dial.

Threadophilia time! I stumbled across this while searching for info on an incoming ... A truly fantastic read, especially for those (like me) that got into watches after it's creation and subsequent demise. A true example of one of the reasons this forum became so popular - thanks to the posters for sharing ... 👍

1969 ss Seamaster 168.023 caliber 751:

An old post, but surprising what one can discover on OF while waiting for the BREXIT descision (beats listening to all that political media waffle On TV). Such a beautiful Omega! The Seamaster 168.023 caliber 751 is my next "project" for sure, but it will need to be on a SS bracelet, which leads me to my question. Was the BoR bracelet ever offered on a 168.023 or only the version as shown on @kyle L's Seamaster shown later in this thread? That BoR looks like it would be very comfortable to wear.

Beautiful.
Mine, btw, is not going anywhere. I feel drawn to the dark side of all things coroneted every time I look at it. 😵‍💫
