Lady says she will take any other pictures I want but can't/won't take the watch apart. Claims case is 14k solid gold, not filled, not plated with ss caseback.
Would any exterior photo's justify taking a shot at any $ level? Wouldn't waste your time except she has a good story (I know, I know) and 15 years sales history.
Would the day dial age a little differently than the date since it hits sunlight 4x as often? Hands look wrong?
Hey, at least I'm asking first!

    1951?!?! That's a post 1972 watch with a 102x inside.

I also see a stainless steel caseback which means it's gold plated. Solid gold Omegas, and most other brands for that matter, would have gold casebacks.

It looks too late for 1951, more like mid 60s. And I'd say gold filled, not solid.
If the story is half right it my not have been worn a lot.

It all looks OK to me and if it goes for low hundreds I'd think its OK.

The divider between the day and date display tells me it's got a caliber from the 102x series, which Omega didn't start making until 1972. The day / date calibers from the 60's were the 75x series, which had no divider on the dial separating the day & date.

Dennis is the oracle. Early 1970's. Looks ok. If it's running and setting perfect,
I'd go up to $225. or so. Put a dark brown reptile strap on it and it will look great.

    but NOT selling watches.

As noted by Dennis, NO solid gold Omega has a stainless steel back. These 70s pieces were usually 20 micron plated, not even gold-filled.

If its not clearly marked 14K GOLD, 14K or 0.585, its not solid gold, and an acid test means nothing either.

I don't know calibers yet, but those shiney hands sure didn't look 60 yrs. old.
Stories are like boats, one good leak sinks the whole thing!
Does anyone think the date dial was darker than the day dial?
Curious if this is common for future ref.
Thanks for all the help. Dennis, seriously, do you or did you keep a journal of info? This is way too much for an old hippie like me to try to remember!

Actually, this one I knew. Some things I retain like Rain Man, others go in one ear and out the other. It also has to do with repetition. When you've been collecting, flipping, and moderating as long as I have, you remember the stuff that gets posted and asked about a billion times.

Don't give him too much credit, this was really one of the easier ones.

And, Buck you should have nailed it yourself when you saw that newer Ω on the dial.

Why we would not even bother to call the InvestiGator out on a job like this.

The InvestiGator has been most gracious on several occasions and the Google advice is well received.
I must get a copy of AJTT. I haven't seen one other than a new one for $380 available recently but it's obviously a neccessity for me.
    Thanks All !

It is a necessity. I buy in Indonesia Omega boutique for USD 580. Still very good investment so far.

GET IT, you may regret some watch purchases, but you will not regret buying this. Please buy it.
