Hey guys, I'm new to the forums. Been lurking for several weeks - been learning a lot; especially from Archer and Kringkily -- thanks for sharing your knowledge. Picked up my Planet Ocean from an AD - pics included. Also found a decent intro to horology - as a newbie I found it interesting - http://www.watchtalkforums.info/forums/content.php?r=494-Horology-101-understanding-your-watch
Heck yeah -it's my daily driver too! Other than a couple of basic Seiko watches and a Casio, my PO is my first nice watch. Probably won't be my last Omega - think I'm hooked!!!
Gorgeous piece. Is it a 42mm or a 45.5mm? Whichever it went with, the size selected fits your wrist very well.
I tried on both, and loved the big, bold look of the 45.5. As expected, it is a bit heavy - but I like the feel. Had two links taken out, bracelet fits comfortably. Overall - I love it. Couldn't be more pleased. Tried on Rolex, Tag, Tissot, Brietling, and Hamilton - the PO felt and looked the best!!
Actually, I went to the AD looking for a Seamaster Diver 300 (blue dial) -- but after a trying on a PO, I had to have it. Maybe I'll get one down the road, but I think my next one will be either an Aqua Terra or a Deville.
I completely agree with your choice for a second Omega. I have the AT and love it, it's a perfect watch...and have my eye on the deville. i do have the SMPc (300) but wear it less compared to the others.
Congrats! Love mine. Never thought I'd buy another after my 2500 several years back. And then this one came out. And, of course now I'm tempted by the new 300. Posting pics of both.
Went with a Speedmaster...absolutely love it! Wears SO much different than my big ol' PO. Got it with a black alligator strap (with deployant), and picked up a rubber strap for my PO. Good times!
