Hi all, I am looking to buy a limited edition piece and the number on the case back has faded through being over-polished. If the item was to be serviced will omega re-engrave the number 0651/9999 etc. Example image attached
    Thanks for the help

This would not be a normal part of a service, and it may be that the only option if you want a clearer LE number, is a new exchange case back, with a fresh engraving on it - this would need to come from Switzerland, and would be chargeable.

Thanks for the reply. Would they still be able to replace the caseback on the APOLLO 30th LE? Typically do you know the standard omega charge for a caseback? Thanks for the help

That would come down to stock availability... so a question for Omega really. Same on the cost.

What catches my attention here is that a LE was worn so much that it was polished, and polished enough to remove the numbers. I always figured LE watches spent nearly their entire lives in a watch box or some other storage. I had to go look up images of the 30th. It is a very un-adorned LE. In fact, I can't see what makes it different from the pro model that was sold at that time, except whatever is engraved on the back. What else made them different? To the thread starter, what is it that drew you to this particular LE?

Good point and had to look it up.... MWO says this limited edition was the ONLY moonwatch on sale between April and December 1999 so if you wanted to buy a new Moonwatch during that period, this is what you got. The person who originally bought it most likely intended it to be a wearer. MWO also confirmed the only distinguishing feature is the LE caseback.
