路Like many here I am fascinated with the Omega Speedmaster watch. There is much to like about the Speedmaster, and for me, one of many items I like about the Speedmaster is how they have been able to maintain *almost* the same look since the late 1950's. Certainly to the casual observer a Speedmaster from the mid 1960's looks identical to one from 2016.
I am on a quest to obtain a Speedmaster from each decade. At this point I have one from the 60's, 70's, 90's, 00's. So just need one from the 80's and 10's. I purposely left out the 1950's Speedy, as this is not one I can afford at this time, or actually ever in my life.
From Left to right:
1960's Ed White - Archive indicates first sold in 1967
1970's Straight Writing - first sold in Dec 1975
1990's 3572.50 - My first Speedmaster, also birth year of youngest son 馃榾
2000's Gemini 4 - favorite watch in the universe.
Future to include: a tin-tin, or wait to see the 60th anniversary for 2010 decade. For 1980's Speedmaster, might be a 20th Anniversary Apollo 11 version.
So please do share if your line up. Would love to see a member here post a Speedmaster from every decade.
