I am not in the market for one of these (at least not today) but some others here may be and I would be interested to hear the thouhgts of the experts on this one, price seems reasonable, though that won't mean much if it is franken....... http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?md=read;id=29873
This looks like a nice example of the Pilot Subsea. The only thing that catches my eye is the replacement rotor, which the seller mentions as the only part replaced during a service. The subdial hands and the bezel might also be service replacements... http://forums.watchuseek.com/f27/vintage-zenith-pilot-subsea-77078.html The price isn't crazy, but maybe a few hundred above auction value.
Thanks for bringing this up. I looked closely at this watch and wanted to ask the same question. I love these watches and don't understand why they are not more popular. JohnCote
All the parts are all original zenith, but some are much much later the watch has been installed with a much later 400/400z movement and as it has been made to deceive you by installing a 3019 phc bridge on a 400/400z movement the watch is a franken .
