Great to see your Datachron Not sure I've seen too many. I think this is a gorgeous layout and colour combination. Here's my Datron for comparison. "Only" a 17 jewel version. But there could be a 31 Jewel 3019 PHC on it's way
Wow, that covers the subject nicely! This year's thread might just be the best ever! Thanks to everyone who contributed
This is the Zenith that's driving me crazy...I'm really grooving on it...but what model is it? I went to the Zenith company site and didn't see it...so I'm guessing it's not currently in production?

They do make a modern version of this but IMO it is not as cool. And this is just at to help with the enablement... Love mine!
Hasn't been in production for some time - late 1990s watch. But not hard to pick up on the secondary market. Search "Zenith Rainbow Flyback." It comes in color and black and white. There are some modern re-issues which you should be able to distinguish from the original pretty easily. Good story too. Watch was created for an RFP for the French Air Force and apparently selected, but then cancelled for budget reasons.
Somehow I missed this thread but did have my EP on Sunday and posted in WRUW thread. This is my one and only EP (my initials... must get an Excelsior Park too!) that I bought from abouttime-ch, the ebay store from Watchco. Needs a new crystal and proper crown, which hopefully I will have by next El Primero day. VIVA!
"The name "El Primero" with which Zenith has baptized this unique and extraordinary watch, was selected because its international debut was made in Spain (The Watch & Jewelry Show in Mardid, Spring 1969)." Another landmark discovery Nicola. I had seen this hypothesis advanced in one of the Spanish fora a few years ago, but this is the first I have seen textual proof. Jean-Frederic Dufour's nonsense about Esperanto - pretty thin invention from the beginning - can be definitively discarded now.

I'm going to bookmark this thread. I had never actually seen an a3818 till now and all I can say is wow. I'm a sucker for a blue dial and this one has come out of nowhere and landed on my wishlist. This is one dangerous subforum! Thanks to all who posted.
