Here's a really lovely Ed White which I acquired from @Spacefruit - here's the original FS post from early last year. As usual with William, he had a queue of buyers at his asking price. I'm pricing it a little higher given that it's 15 months since I bought it and it has been serviced since.

[NB: I listed this in May originally then decided to get the watch serviced, so withdrew it, had a full movement service done by Simon Freese, and it's back up for sale as of August]

It is with some regret that I offer it for sale; I'm just not inclined to wear it as it's so special, and therefore it's time for it to find a new keeper. I've also acquired other watches in the meantime - you know the drill :)

I'm looking for £16,000 | $20,500 | €17,750 by bank wire. The watch and I are based near London, and I'd welcome a face-to-face deal, or we can discuss shipping arrangements if required. I'm open to offers, though - try me if you're interested.

The bulk of the photos are used with @Spacefruit's permission - I've added some more of my own later, but it hasn't materially changed in the time I've had it (as it spends most of its time in the safe).

What sets this watch apart from many others is the dial - it's stunning.

The watch comes on a slightly stretched but very usable 7912 bracelet with non-original number 6 endlinks, and everything about it (case, pushers, crown etc) is correct, though crown and pushers have presumably been changed as service items at some point in the past.

There's an extract of the archives which says the watch was produced 17 December 1965. The case is in very good condition, and the DON bezel is in good condition, though it does have a small dent at 100 and the odd micro scratch elsewhere. Inevitably, macro photos make the bezel look a lot worse than it does in hand.

1-P2030006-005.jpg Previously serviced by Omega in 2011, it's just been serviced by Simon Freese, August 2018, guaranteed for 18 months].

I have some history of buying & selling watches on OF and various other fora, more buying than selling... I'm a collector for my own enjoyment and I only sell when I need to move something on, usually to make way for something else.

Let me know if you have any comments, questions etc. Thanks to OF for the space and to Spacefruit for the stewardship of this watch, and the excellent photos included.

Thanks for the various interest in this watch - in looking to take some current photos, I'm not happy with the chronograph reset so I think I'll take the watch away to be serviced by Simon Freese and then re-present it as a freshly serviced Speedmaster.

Just back from Simon Freese having had a full movement service (so the chrono reset is nice and crisp), and Simon also did some stabilisation on the lume plot at 10 o'clock - if you see the photos at the very top of the post, the corner of the 10 plot had flaked off so he's added a little blob of coloured lume to stop it from losing any more. It is noticeable under direct lighting and a macro lens but obviously not the naked eye, and even under a loupe you'd only spot it if you were looking for it.

So the watch is for sale again - servicing at my own expense. Everything else as above. The photos in this post are mine, just taken August 2018.

Bump - some nibbles and queries (thanks all) but so far nobody has said the magic words.

I'll be in the US (Seattle) the week of 27th August and again (California) the week of 10th September. I could bring the watch over and do a F2F deal if there's any American friend who's put off by the hassle of international shipping and all that normally entails. The equivalent to my £17,000 asking price is $21,750.

A note on the asking price - at the time I bought the watch, the Speedmaster101 chart had Good at $15,000 and Collector at $19,000. Taking into account exchange rate at the time and a £1500 value for the bracelet, that means this watch was approximately 60% of the way between the two measures (and since the guy who sold the watch also put the price chart together, let's presume that's a fair placement). Now (as of the June 18 guide), Good is 13% higher ($17,000) and Collector is $25,000 - 32% up, highlighting a growing gap. My asking price is based on more or less the same monetary amount above Good that I paid the last time, so isn't inflated because the very best watches are getting more expensive...

Clearly a slow time of year - when @Spacefruit sold this watch last spring, it was gone at £15k in less than 24 hours with a queue of 3 people waiting...

To make it easier for the next owner, I'll drop the asking price to £16,000 | $20,500 | €17,750 net. Make me an offer if you think that's too much. It'll come with me to Seattle next week if anyone wants to see it in the metal.

Sale fell through as the buyer backed out. I'm going to hold it for a while and it might show up again next year. Pip pip!
