I'd say natural, these blue dials were very susceptible to it! The blue dial speedies (a rare bird) often have it and the blue dial MQ and EQ models often do

Many thanks - seems my personal preference for the black is warranted!

Time to resume my search for a nice one...

Looks like it's the usual aging of of the tritium that emits less than 227 MBq. Common in dials that have not had any touch up.

    Best of luck,

I was watching and bidding up to a point... but it got too high for a non running watch, even with the papers.

Over £1500 markup and they couldn't be bothered to service it? I know servicing with Omega isn't cheap for the Speedsonics though. If you want to splash this kind of money however there's a NOS example on Chrono24 from a dealer for the same money.

They say "running" but suspect it's still not running quite right - the day wheel looks misaligned, especially for that time of day. A new one isn't too hard to find though.

It could be that they got it running by cleaning the contacts, and fitting a correct battery... so that's £5 of cost.

Getting these serviced by STS or Omega is a serious financial undertaking - and for a dealer (if that is who's selling this watch), it would strip out any potential margin.

I bought a non runner, which went to Paul at Electric Watches, including replacing both date wheels, a new tuning fork, and a good few other parts, the bill ran to £375 - they could have done the same, but this is just a straight up greedy flip.

Anyone have an idea if that lume overspill can be effectively tidied up by someone who knows what they're doing? Seller has reduced price and was considering sending a message to see if he'll come down to a sensible level due to the lack of servicing.

Really depends if it's done any damage to the finish underneath.

It was potentially too expensive for a non runner with possible dial damage at auction.

Yeh, you're talking sense. Suppose it's better to wait for a nicer one to come up on here at some point.

We all rely on The Lizard @tyrantlizardrex to use his IT/speedsesnse/time off work for this sort of thing, but now he is renting out his brain again, will Gotham/Omega City still be safe from the chancers?

    Will he still spot them?

We will find out soon enough!
