A little follow up, since I got the Polarouter back from my watchmaker today, so here a couple of bonus shots

In daylight, the tropical dial will appear much better! Sadly to dark still in the evening to take such a shot...

Good choice of crown, even if not signed, I think it fits the watch perfectly!

😲Aren't you worried that strap will use up the back?

I agree--that NATO style strap will damage the case back.

Very nice! I Love everything about that watch. I do not mind the aging of the dial at all. I think it is quite beautiful. It is interesting how the "Polarouter" word is in white. The crown is a very close match to the original unsigned Polarouter crowns. Love the unpolished case. Great catch! I agree that a brown strap is appropriate, but as I noted below, this one will damage the case back. I would use a 19 mm standard strap with pins.

I had a gold capped Polarouter a couple of years ago, but sold it because I generally don't bond with gold capped or gold plated watches. Here is my current Polerouter, after a little freshening up by my watchmaker:

Bought this charming piece on auction the other week

Today I received this picture from my watchmaker

A very successful overhaul I must say, thanks to my watchmaker that has a great feeling in taking care of these old gems! 😀

Your watchmaker can do that in a week!! I am moving to Sweden. Can't find anyone to do a basic service in less than 3 months. Grrr
