For sale is an early 1949 Omega Seamaster with a rare two tone partial textured dial. I’ve only seen a few others over the years. It was quite a project when I purchased it (see last photo) - I swapped the case and crown and had it serviced by my watchmaker recently. See below for full details, and feel free to message me with any questions.

Dial: Features a rare, original (non-refinished) two tone dial and a unique guilloche texture on the outer portion. The dial has developed some patina - most notably an attractive salmon-ish color in the center portion.

Case: When I bought it, it was in a gold capped 2577 reference case but the gold had completely come off one lug (see last photo). I replaced the main case with a period correct steel 2577 case and re-used the original case back; original case will be included with the sale. The case is in nice unpolished condition, although the caseback has a few scratches.

Crown: Period correct flat foot logo crown was installed during service.

Crystal: New generic crystal was installed during service and is free of scratches.

Movement: The 351 caliber bumper automatic movement was serviced by my watchmaker in April 2022 and comes with a one year service warranty. The serial number dates the watch to 1949.

Strap: Comes on either the new brown DeBeer leather strap or the used Veblenist leather strap pictured (your choice). Beads of rice bracelet pictured isn’t available.

Price is $1000 shipped globally. Bank transfer/Wise for payment. OF seller reviews are here. Returns are accepted if the watch is grossly misrepresented. Watch is located in the USA.

@seekingseaquest : are you writing this with a gun pointed at you? I mean, who would want to part with such an extremely rare and beautiful watch? 😁
