Saw Dunkirk this evening. Superb. My only criticism was the sheer scale of it all wasn't conveyed properly/visually. Time flew by (excuse the pun).

I'm new here, and didn't see the Omega while watching... (sorry!)
I find it interesting that everyone enjoyed this movie so much.
I saw it last week, and was not impressed at all. Very little storytelling, I didn't really connect with any of the characters.
The guys trying to get back to England get on 4 different boats that all get sunk... It gets old quickly.
Lack of conversation might be realistic given the circumstances, but doesn't do well in a movie.

Nice aerial footage, but from a pilots perspective it's quite ridiculous. Experienced Spitfire pilots missing shots like that, the general lack of fighter manoeuvres, and to top it off there's the gliding scene at the end. Sure it adds some drama, but don't overdo it and let the guy glide for 5 minutes (while making 3 turns and gunning another fighter in the process, from a starting altitude of maybe 500 feet).

Saw it a little over a week ago and although I agree that the gliding thing was way over the top, the rest of your criticisms seem to miss the point in my view. It had been called the best war movie ever, and although I don't agree with that certainly, I do think there was plenty of storytelling in this movie. Dialogue is not always needed to tell a story...I think in this case more dialogue would have gotten in the way of the story...
