All well and good offering a counter-opinion but would be useful to those not in the know, the reasons why you think this.
You need to search some of Al's ( @Archer ) threads on watch repair and service. All mechanical watches need service at timely intervals or the watch will literally tear itself apart. Just because a watch is keeping good time and winds up doesn't mean there aren't issues inside. IMO when someone says "if it ain't broke don't fix it" about watches they are being naive and misleading, especially to someone like yourself.

Thanks for your advice, I'll have a search for relevant information. Out of interest, for those of you with several watches, how often do they all get serviced?
