Dress / Sport Dress Watch for Sub 1k?

Opening my box i've come to acknowledge that i'm heavy on utility watches. SMP300m, Tissot T-Touch Expert (actually very useful when hiking), Hamilton Field Khaki, and then my only non tool, an Omega Constellation Pie Pan (60's). I want to get a Dress watch or at least a sport dress (style wise along the lines of GS Spring Drive, Rolex OP) watch for more formal occasions. I'm not a huge fan of the Seiko Presage line, so was wondering what the masses had to recommend. I like Nomos, for Longines i havent seen anything that makes me want to pull the trigger. Any micro brands or general recommendations?

For formal occasions, wouldn't your vintage Constellation be the crème de la crème for a dress watch?
(saw your other post, beautiful watch by the way)
If you're looking for new and "sporty", I'd like to suggest a Sinn(556) in your budget ballpark.

Agree with @Mephisto, the Sinn line of watches are beautiful......

Perhaps I can point you toward a couple that are 'Dress' timepieces, Swiss made and movements, under USD$1,000, and part of the Swatch family....

I love the constellation, however a little versatility is needed. I always need an excuse for to make the collection bigger.

I was going to recommend a Seiko Presage ... until I say your comment!

A Hamilton Jazzmaster is a nice looking, dressy watch. I've never owned one, but I've been tempted many times.

As you can see, I’m a fan of the Longines Heritage range.

These two (and others) are currently available as new or pre-owned and come within your budget.

I 'angsted' about whether to get a white or black dial and @janice&fred resolved my dilemma by telling me to get both!

If you don’t like the presage series, have you considered it’s equivalent from citizen?

Black with the gold i do like....I'll take a look into that. Also considering a 9F Quartz Grand Seiko extending budget to like 2K.

If you are considering Sinn, you should also look at Steinhart. Swiss ETA/SW movements and well within your USD$1,000.
