Downsizing.

Good afternoon. It's been many years since I posted here. Age and physical condition are requiring me to move to assisted living. Therefore, I'm selling off things that won't fit in my soon-to-be-new home that are too big, valuable, numerous or forbidden. One of the "too valuable are a couple of Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometers. The one i have a question about is the 2-tone 2332.80. I got it new in 2000, but my recollection is that it's a few years older than that. I have the box and papers, but there's no serial number with them. Where do I find the serial number and how do I determine when it was made? Thank you.

The number may also be hiding somewhere on the papers, and hopefully matches the number on the lug.

Thanks very much. The serial number is 4971****. It's on the lug and matches the serial number on the side of the box, which I missed. I think that dates it to 1986. So it languished somewhere for 14 years before I bought it through Ross-Simons.

I think those online serial number tables aren't very accurate. I doubt it's that old. I think you are good.

Best of luck in your new home. It seems like it will be nice to have help readily available.
