Disclaimer: While I do dig the dial of this watch, the bracelet is obviously in shoddy condition. That said, is it worth $800 if I can get the fellow to come down?
I think you could do better. Take from a recent noob that it definitely takes patience and learning to make the right purchase. I would say avoid eBay and places like Chrono24 and take a look at the forums private sales. Lots of great examples go through there all the time. The linen dial looks fine but the case looks quite heavily polished.
The bracelet is stretched but you should concentrate on the watch head.
