This sucks. I've been reading this thread quite a bit, and decided to check out my grandfathers old watch which my father gave to me. VERY similar to this one. Supposedly an 18K gold watch and band. The band even has an 18K stamp on it. I'm going to guess it's a fake as well. I'll have to take it to a watch shop and have them open it up just to make sure. Ugggghhhh..... =((

Have them check the band if it is stamped. As far as the watch goes, that's really too bad. A fun thing for you to do now is to replace your inherited one with an authentic one from the time period. That way you retain a family heirloom - maybe you can still use the gold strap.

Could someone weigh in on real or fake? Thanks in advance!

We could if this thread was for questions. As the title states, it isn't.

Watch is genuine, strap and buckle are fake.
Thanks for your help. Do you think 380 was a fair price to pay for it?

And does it look like it has been polished?

Pretty sure this isn't the forum for that type of question. Looks like a nice watch, likely polished but not overboard. At $380 serviced I think you did a decent job if you like the watch. Remember value is often in the eyes of the beholder.

As the thread title states, it's definitely not for that type of question.
