Does this Speedmaster/nato combo look odd?

I’ve only ever had a bracelet or OE tan leather deployant strap on my Speedmaster ‘57. I thought I’d try the nato strap from my SMPc. Does the blue/grey nato look out of place on this watch? Looking online, there’s plenty of black/grey NATO’s that suit the black face but none in my colour. Is that because it doesn’t look right? DFF8AA94-81EC-4A93-A246-43799E55B5AF.jpeg

It doesn't look quite right to me, but it could be the lighting...

I don't think it goes completely together, but it's not totally off. I personally always like a combination that has matching colors on/with the dial. It's all a matter of preference though so do what you like! There's a colorway for everyone. ;)

Is the nato blue and gray? Or is that just the lighting and pic? I think black and grey would work better.

As much as I've tried to love striped NATOs, I find myself avoiding them. The exceptions are those "edge" NATOs. I like those very much, with the contrasting color just on the outer edges. Otherwise, I always find plain black or khaki are best for my tastes. But this is all about how it looks to your eyes, right? You should probably use whichever straps look best to you. You're the boss.

Not bad but I think a solid color may work better

Yep, it’s blue and grey. Looks great on my blue SMPc but now I think about it, that’s why I only see pictures of black and grey ones on Speedmasters so I’ll have to put one of those on my birthday list.

Just buy a cheap one. Natos should be cheap. You can get ones with nice stitching and quality for $8-15.

Can’t, just can’t. Got to be a proper one or not at all. Silly, I know, but that’s me. :D

Did Omega even make natos before 2015?

I think it looks too “busy” and detracts from the watch. I believe solid would look better but that’s just my ,02.

Dunno but I only got into Omega's in 2017 when I got this '57 for my 60th. Also got an Omega strap and deployant clasp for it. The Seamaster followed last year and again, I went for a genuine Omega. My wife thinks I’m crackers too!

    It's not crazy.

The Omega deployant clasp are totally different from the Nato.

Nah, doesn't look good. I have the same Speedmaster 57, love that watch. I go through months-long stretches when it's all I wear, even over my Pro. Nice to see someone else with one, I always feel like that watch deserves more love than it seems to get.

Back on with the leather strap. It’s looking a lot darker than when I got it 18 months ago. Any way to clean it up?
