Hi There,
Bit of help needed before proceeding with this project. Does this Seamaster 300 (165.024) look all original?
My question: Do the Bezel, Dial, Hands, etc look all time correct and original? I understand that seen the crown type, its one of the bit earlier models.
Thanks a million!!

Hello and welcome to the forum. As you probably know, there are several reference sources for these references on the internet that you can use for comparisons.

I'm curious about what "project" you're referring to. Is this a potential purchase? An inherited heirloom?

Thanks for your kind welcome! Should have indeed made it more clear in my post that its for a potential purchase. All the info online makes me a bit dizzy. Hoping for some opinions here about the chance of it maybe being original (or not)....

Case seems a little wonky, but I’m not sure. The insert in the bezel seems to be aftermarket.

Dial is clearly aged but seems artificially so.

Maybe just the photography angles but bezel edge looks a little wonky as well.

That was my thought, also. I didn’t think that there was a legit bezel that has both the serif “1” and the “4” with a pointed top. But I wasn’t sure about that.

You need better pictures: for the serifs , the T SWISS T at 6 and the case, as said before. + inside caseback and movement. If not: do not buy!
Or tell us the asking-price.

Ok, I can ask for the "white paper check". But as I noted the crown has fallen off and is now lost....Isnt that a big issue. I do know a good official Omega service center, they can put on a new crown original for the time and model , but it will never be the one that was on the watch when it was made...

Located in The Netherlands, I will check with a local (idependant) omega-certified watchmaker, but do think it will then be a "new old stock" crown. Wouldn't that be an issue not 2 have a vintage crown, but a shinny new one?
