Does this 14060M look heavily polished to you?

I am in the market for a 14060M and saw this one:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=376069

Price looks good, is it priced lower simply because a lack of documentation or it it heavily polished? Anything wrong with this one? Hard to say to my unseasoned eye, but I do not put a $500 value on papers so I would be happy saving the money and getting a clean piece.

Also if anyone has a minty 14060M they could part with.... PM me 馃榾

Looks like a very good example to me, and at a good price. For me, conditiin is more important than the box.

I have bought from David Several times. He is absolutely top-notch, and you should have no worries about authenticity.

Good luck with your search, the Sub is a great watch.

you don't see it as overly polished? I sent the link to a guy on TRF and he thought it was polished beyond repair.. I just don't see it...

It has been polished, but I wouldn't say "beyond repair".

There are a jillion photos of these out there you can easily compare. Caseback ridges, lugs, crown guards, bezel edge, crown on clasp all good comparison points. These aren't rare at all, I would prefer one like this than an unpolished "beater".

And if this example doesn't suit, another will come along very shortly.

Looks good...DavidSW is a solid seller as well. If it has been polished it was a professional job.

A nice example. Every time I see these no date subs I wish I had bought mine w/o date!

Should be, no "T" on the dial. "Y" series was circa 2001. As the dial is marked "swiss made" probably superluminova, but there is always some matter of opinion on when the switch was made, and I can't tell you for sure.

Good luck with it!

I consider that overpolished for a modern Rolex.

It would be decent for a 5513 but not a 14060. You can do better. IMO, spend slightly more for a nicer example.

davidsw? I remember that guy - he's like the unofficial, official watch dealer. @ trf, right?

I can't prove it but I'm 99% sure he's the sweetheart who had me banned from that place.

I was buying a sub for one of my managers as a holiday gift and very graciously and kindly asked him for like a 4% discount off his ask and he got like a wiseguy with me. He's asking 7g's for a watch and I wrote "how about" 6700? and he replied "how about 7,000?" Who does that?? Where I'm from we have names for guys like him and I told him as much.
So, I drove up to my good friend Steve from Tarrytown Jewelers ( a real man) and got a better watch for 5500.

I cant post the convo from trf because I'm banned but he can if he wants to defend himself.
I've never have a bad word to say about anyone here except for 1 insecure guy who won't forgive and forget but that's his problem 馃榾

I just f with him and he doesn't even realize it... Women!

just saw your reply - thanks. what exactly gives it away as polished, and what turns you off to it? thanks.

If you look at the closeup of the lugs, you can see where the polishing has been so deep that it bites into the chamfer...

Disclaimer: I don't really have an opinion on whether the watch is a good buy or not, as I am a noob.
Just trying to help with a keen eye.

Lags, some links and buckle are polished, this is clearly seen. But looks good.
