I’d get the old Omega railmaster from the early 2000’s if you’re dead set on 42mm.

Get whatever ya want… put it on a similar strap or bracelet of another watch…. And don’t tell her.
Wear it under a cuff for first few weeks

Buy her something to look at instead of what you have on

For this exercise, my wife appreciates the footprint of the 44mm GMT vs the 41mm of the 300MC... So, keeping all parties happy, the quest was for a "Time Only" with a more like the GMT footprint.

Sorry, I’m having a really hard time understanding what is going on here. Is your wife sharing the watch with you and wearing it herself?
