Dodgy Speedy?

Hello Folks,

I’ve spotted a dubious Speedy on eBay and wanted to canvass your opinions. It’s listed for $3000 CAD but zero details are attached to the listing. The seller responded initially saying the watch was originally owned by his uncle and he doesn’t know of any service history.. I’m awaiting his response to further questions:

- serial numbers
- year of purchase
- high resolution close-up photos (exterior and interior)
- running condition

My gut tells me to run a mile. Do you agree?

I’ve read Ben’s post and it doesn’t mention the watch is definitely a scam. Is it worth having a look at it in the flesh?

I think his point is that the eBay listing is a false one using someone else's photos
Ahhhhh, I see. Well, that’s disappointing. I think you should all know that without OF I would have rinsed many, many monies! Thank you!

I'm not positive it's a scam. But flags are up. At least seems like they are from the same location... But tread with caution.

If you're geographically close to the seller, go see it. If not , tell me where it's listed. 😀

Oddboy, it’s listed in Moosejaw, SK. I’m quite near* and will try to pop over for a look-see.

*quite near in Canadia is relative. In this case it is but a mere 3,168 km.

You and me both. There were 10 offers on it. I asked for info a couple days ago and threw out a real lowball offer just to see if I could establish contact . Someone took a flyer on it I guess

Nope little more then that. Look again. They should be straight. They are pushed out.
