I would say yes, the max I would have gone is $550. The dial looks relumed and the case a little rough, but at least the edges on the lugs look good. Movement could probably benefit from a service as well.

Yes, you went a little high but it's only money. I'd be more worried about the feedback score of the seller.

It looks to me that the whole dial has been redone. It's too clean as compared to the rest of the watch. It is a faithful representation of the original, as some were made without "Seamaster Calendar" on the dial.

    Hope this helps,

Too much money for a an average condition watch with a redone dial.

Um, this is gonna sound tacky but it will give you an idea of what can be found on the sales forum of watch websites. I'm selling a 1952 Seamaster bumper that's all original & correct for what you paid (or less) than the eBay watch:

The only difference is it doesn't have the date at 6.

Thanks guys. I guess this is a good learning experience for me trying to pick up my first vintage piece. It had a $950 BIN price and I was thinking of trying my luck. I guess I need to do more homework on market prices and what to really look out. You guys are really tops and always willing to help which I really appreciate. Really glad I found this forum.

Dennis, I just saw your 1952 Seamaster bumper. Great condition. You are tempting me. Wish i had more of this::money::.

Don't have a dog for you to paint though. Have set it and thanks for making me feel at home.
