Do you think this one is a redial?

If you have iPhone you can touch and hold then add to your photos or just take a screen shot and edit the frame down to the pic.

Don’t know zenith but here’s your pics

Yes, probably a redial IMO. And the applied star is misaligned with the underlying printed star, which is fairly bizarre. No way the watch came like that from the factory. I also suspect that the hands are replacements.

I am no expert on these but that caseback text looks pretty low rent, more commonly seen on low end vintage models. Even if it is straight, the thing with the star and the back would put me off it altogether.

Minute tick mark spacing is inconsistent, 44 sec mark is diagonal. Crosshairs for small seconds do not align with 6 marker.

This is getting embarrassing.
Honestly, I wasn't ready to buy, but I am going to have to learn to see better.
Thanks to all!

It’s a mess. Why they put a star over the other star is bizarre. Could be original case as Zenith did have some wild cases in the 40’s but the caseback doesn’t look right. Hands not original for a dial like that. Sub seconds crosshairs too long for the short hand. I can smell the paint from here

That’s what this place is all about, learning to see better.
And I think threads like this are helpful with these kinds of responses. Those that just respond “fake”- don’t add to the collective knowledge and education of others.
If you hadn’t posted this apparent disaster, those of us who don’t know Zenith’s wouldn’t know what to look for

Amen to that.

It looks like it should have a Cal 106 or variation inside. The thing with those pieces is that you could have no star, outline star or applied star but never one on top of the other. Although Zenith catalogs from the time advertise Cadran Noir, black dial, I’m always suspicious of them. It says sold, what was the asking price?

I think it was between $525 and $550
