Do we think Omega will drop anything soon?

Nicey Nice. I like the return to the classic 40s 50 look. (well outside my price range, I can not afford rusty speedmaster 861 parts)

Wonder if this sort of thing will ever get the bioceramic swatch treatment.

Beautiful watch. Undoubtedly pricey and unlikely to leap off the shelves but impressive attention to details and gorgeous casework and dial, extended PR and great dimensions. Plenty to like in this one.

I've had a few bronze watches and have found them hit or miss, though the Tudor BB58 boutique edition has held up beautifully. This Omega is in a very different class of execution and refinement. Kudos.

love to hear your views on the Tudor bronze. Have got the recent BB58 Pepsi gmt and been looking at the other variants. Maybe PM rather than take this thread off topic!

There’s a very real chance I’m just being thick here, but I don’t know what “bronze gold” actually is.
I’ve seen bronze watches, Oris, for example, but I don’t know if this new Omega is simply bronze-coloured gold, or is actually made from bronze.

It is a gold/bronze alloy, the gold content is 37.5%, or 9kt.

It is a nice looking watch but why the hell Omega does not stop to put this silly argent mark above the dial´s centre - it stands out like a sore thumb... it could be put onto the back of the dial, this would be sufficient!
And so much money for a 9 carat watch? Really?

Well executed dress watch which is a nod to the early 1950s onwards Olympic watches. Beautiful dial and 39mm makes it a hit for me.

All the nice watch But But comments.
9kt is more durable and the gold content never corresponds to the price of a watch… (321 Speedmasters have no gold)

I like it, agree on the argent mark though, but otherwise had I gone / were going to the olympics I'd get one.

Wondering if Omega will ever release a non-Olympics version of this. Only just found the limited CK859 that they did - nice but doesn't have the impact that this one does for me, especially with the extra dial details. If they did a Sedna non-Olympic version I suspect I'd be in there like a shot, although also guessing the price would rise even more for that metal 🙁

Not likely that they will do another Sedna that would "compete" with the 522.52.39.21.04.001 which has an RRP of 3x the steel version.

Olympics is only on the case back. Wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

Yikes hadn't seen that one, and yep as guessed a full Sedna is 50% more again - perhaps telling that it's still available to buy online (in the UK at least) some two years post Beijing Winter games. Still find this Paris version so much nicer though. Much more interesting dial, and prefer the matching bronze hands rather than blue.

Fair point

I like the watch but for that price I expect 18k gold and/or Breguet level guilloche dial. If seiko can make exotic dials at lower prices omega should be able to do the same.

I was thinking the same. The watch is nice, a classic design. But I immediately thought of RGM watches and thought the Omega underwhelming. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought Omega capable of more at this price point.

I owned this one many moons ago and I remember how well done the dial was. A real standout. This is the kind of dial quality omega should have with this watch.

I have an 801 that I got 11 years ago. Instead of an engraved dial, I got an engraved main plate. (after digging around on my phone to find a wrist shot (which turns out to be from exactly 10 years, 11 months ago today) I realized that it was my avatar pic as well 😜 )

Had the chance to view the new Omega bronze gold in the flesh today in my local OB. Have to say it was lovely. Size and thickness just right, and wore very nicely on the wrist. Paris Olympic rear less of an issue than I imagined and prefer that it has the solid case back. Really do think Omega got a lot right with this one. Rather tempted although very much trying not to buy any more watches just now!

To add a bit: Omega's bronze-gold, in addition to being 9k gold, contains silver, gallium, and palladium. The metal mix does a couple of cool things- It is hypoallergenic, a great improvement over regular bronze, and it will not patinate like standard bronze. Omega (I believe) stated it won't patinate at all, but from what I've seen of owners of the SM300 bronze-gold, it darkens very slightly towards "red," taking tiny steps towards looking like Sedna gold (but not really looking like that either).

How this patinates over several decades I can't say, but it is wildly unlikely it will patinate towards green like standard high-copper bronze.
