Do some early Seamasters NOT have Seamaster on the dial?

I have searched and search, including this forum, and haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Do some early Seamasters NOT have Seamaster on the dial. I have a '49 2582 2C bumper 351 caliber. Some insist it is an early Seamaster, and that some early Seamasters do not have Seamaster on the watch face. Others say no. Help, please.
