Do Omega usually sell older models?

Why do you think it's "older"? If it's in the current catalog, then it is a current model. They have watches that are essentially unchanged for many years. That doesn't make them "older".

Because

1. I believe this is the new watch with new movement and master chronograph https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/...-chronometer-chronograph-44-mm-21030445103001

2. The ones I posted also not possible to find through drilling down the collection on Omega website

3. its difficult to find on sale at ADs online, its marked as EOP, discontinued.

This is why I believe watch in question is end of production and surprised that Omega still have it on their website

It’s down to stock levels in specific markets - it will stay on the site whilst it’s still available from Omega direct or an Omega owned boutique in country.

i would expect that actually Omega would be the first one to run out of stock first and then its AD to follow, here seems like its other way around.

this was cracking deal £3k for such watch

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph Steel & Blue Ceramic 41.5mm 212 - Burrells

ADs tend to hold a limited amount of stock… and OBs don’t do discount… so if you’re in the market for a discontinued watch, an AD is likely to be the place you’ll get a deal.

Omega hold on to stuff forever too… at the 60th Speedmaster anniversary, two of the London OBs still had 50th big box sets in stock. ::facepalm1::

What else would they do with it, smash it with a hammer and chuck it in the dumpster? It's not like it deteriorated....

Sell it?

Having multiples of a limited edition hanging around in boutique safes for a decade doesn't sound like great business practice...

Separate issue, isn't it?

Could be they're trying but no takers at the asking price. All sorts of reasons we don't know.

It seems like some stuff just doesn't sell in some boutiques or cities.

I saw in another thread that there are no Apollo 8 Speedmasters available - last week in London I saw one in Bond Street and one in Regent Street... just out on display.

It really feels like they need to find a way to move stock if it isn't selling... or even to have some global stock availability programme, so if a customer in NY wants a watch, but it's only in stock in Paris, they move the stock to where the customer is, and get it sold.

On the US website the watch is listed as out of stock. If you want one of these this is a good time to contact Omega ADs and maybe even the Omega boutiques , because if anyone has one in their inventory at the shop, time to ask for discount pricing.

Omega was able to supply me the watch in my profile pic which is 12 years old. Although I bought else where.

This is the case with some other models too, I think they keep stock back for some reason.

I'd suspect that it's to make room for new models... which is fine... until you have a stock safe filled with old models that you're probably not supposed to display... because they're old... and you're not allowed to discount... and you don't do sales. ::facepalm1::

omega museum collection are among the ones that omega has them in stock some or other part of the world for years. i noticed (if not mistaken) some of them have official price revised to a lower number, but not technically a discount.
