Do collectord not like Vacheron Constantin?

I’ve been watching and reading a lot of content about watches, like many of you, I’m sure. It’s interesting to see what collectors go crazy for—and I notice a lot of Rolexes and Patek Philippes in their collections. But rarely any Vacheron Constantin.

Now, I really love this watchmaker. Just look at their Les Cabinotiers line—it’s pure perfection. I get that VC watches might not appreciate in value over time (just assuming based on current trends), but many collectors don’t even care about that; they value their watches as unique pieces.

So why is VC often left out of collections?

Breguet and Vacheron are the two legacy houses don’t get much love. You can also add AP to that list, except for the Royal Oak line is carrying the brand, for now. . The market favors sport over dress watches. In a dozen years, this trend could reverse.

I remembered the days Aquanaut sat for 6 months without interest, I asked to see it and got a “manager special price”.

Collector markets have swings. I think Vacheron Constantine will have another heyday. They have some unique watches, and a unique history as the longest continually running watchmaker. And they do have sports watches, just maybe not in the look people want today. Collectors see it as a value brand, but it doesn't take much value collecting to make vintage pieces go up in scarcity, and then price.

They make great watches. Their Royal Chronometer is highly esteemed. Here’s a 6694 “Batman.”

they certainly have some of the most advanced top end complications currently in mainstream manufacturing horology.
These 2 look amazing as I am sure the price is.

And at the end of the day people would still prefer the Rolex Leopard.
