have a Rolex DJ41 which has become a safe queen; thinking of trading for Speedmaster '57 and FOIS; im questioning if I need 2 similar Speedmasters? are they different enough to justify it or keep looking?

any advice is appreciated.

I traded a brand new explorer 36 for a mint 1989 Speedy and couldn't be happier with my trade. I am so happy that now I am considering trading a YM 37 rose gold for something else. Barter is the way forward.

As for your question of having two similar Speedmaster's, sit tight and await the incoming... I have four Speedmaster's and all are totally different. The game most of us play is to have one of every version and when thats achieved we want one mint and one beater of the same model. I don't know what comes after that as I have not achieved round one yet.

If it was me I would want a straight lug and wire lug instead of 2 straight lugs.

I would do that.
I don't have the investment on my mind, i just compare the watches.

I own a Fois, i love it.... And i wish i had the chance to own more Speedies with the 1861 cal.

How about a Speedmaster (either FOIS or Pro with 1861) and a Seamaster Aqua Terra? That combo covers pretty much all bases. The AT for when you need something a bit dressier or with better water resistance. The Speedy for all other occasions. If it was me, that's the way I would go.

I went from Rolex to Omega and now I am thinking going back to Explorer II. Nothing wrong with Speedmaster, just Explorer II suits my lifestyle better.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger. still have my "batman" GMT; but now adding a Speedmaster '57 & "sapphire sandwich" moonwatch; super excited; i loved the DJ41; but hated it spent so much time in the safe.....they need to see the daylight
