Hi! I was wondering wether some of you modify your bracelet or straps in unique way. I.e. I really like new bracelet but since I’ve already had a US1479 I’ve decided to modify it to resemble the 3861 one a bit more. I’ve deepened the small fake links on the end links (I’ve never liked the design anyway), added forstner clasp which I brushed and shortened the buttons since they were sticking out way too much imo. Overall i think it turned out quite nicely, can’t wait to see what you think!

I also made myself an NASA velcro inspired strap, though i know it’s quite popular.

I really hope im not the only one to do this kind of stuff since it would render me a weird one .

Either way, let me know what you think.
Sincerly,
J.M.

Nice work. How do you like that push-button clasp? I liked the finish but it felt a bit heavy.

I'm more curious to how you made the velcro! Looks great. I really like the velcro because it amplifies that tool watch aesthetic.

Thanks! It is nice and i do enjoy it. It isn’t that heavy (heavier than folded ones for sure) but it feels high quality. i guess my only gripe with it would be that due to use of a thin springbar at the connection of clasp shell and ribs, it is a bit more flimsy then id like for it to be. Nevertheless it is still the best aftermarket clasp I’ve used to date.

Those straps are actually incredibly simple if you can sew then you can give it a shot and if not you can go to a tailor. All you need is a 20mm Velcro strap (use the original stuff, other hook and loops straps are crap) and a metal oval ring. Sew it in two spots ( as seen on photos) and you are done. You can reinforce the hook part with a piece of nylon or some other material of your choice.

Looks good! Could you elaborate on what you did to modify the end links? One of the things I like about the new 3861 bracelets compared to the US1479 is how the "center" link appears on the end links.

Thanks! It took some trial and error but at the end I’m quite satisfied with the results. My US end links came with very faint lines and it looked very mediocre. I bought 0,26mm diamond wire saw from amazon to elongate and deepen the grooves and diamond files to make the “small links” more pronounced. Overall it takes a lot of patience and caution.
