Diver 300 GREEN! Thoughts?

Not sure why people keep connecting this with the 'hulk.' The watch is green, but that's literally the only similarity. The shade is different, the material is different, etc etc. All of the kermit/hulk/kermit2 submariners have worn more bright, garish shades compared to this richer evergreen Seamaster.

Coming back to taper / no taper, I am sure Alexander confused the rubber strap with metal bracelet. Here screenshot from OMEGA, obviously the rubber tapers from 20 to 18, but not the SS. But when I am looking at the comments to his video he keeps insisting there is gradual taper. He is unfortunately wrong.

Looks great, just wish we had a brush steel bracelet on this.

Very nice, especially on the rubber strap.
At first glance the green strap looked aliitle off to me. But after watching the WA video it looks pretty cool. I'd probably opt to buy on the bracelet and purchase the rubber strap as a alternative look.

This video claims the bracelet has a 20-18mm taper. I’m assuming that’s fake news, and probably an oversight by the publisher.

Nice watch, nonetheless.

It’s not fake news, if you look carefully it’s clear there is a slight taper, particularly at the clasp as the 2018 model is 21mm whereas this is 18mm-the same as the Rolex 126610LN.

I like it!!

The video says the bracelet tapers, but I've seen comments saying it doesn't? Does anyone know for sure if it tapers down to 18mm now?
It’s quite obvious that it does and the clasp in particular doesn’t look like the massive belt buckle the 2018 model has. I can only hope that the modified bracelet becomes the standard for all SMP’s as it’s what so many of us have been asking for.

Wrong wrong wrong. It’s clear as day that the bracelet begins to taper almost from the very top, particularly as the clasp is significantly smaller than the previous incarnation.

Noticed there is a waiting list on the Omega website for it. They're not gonna do a 'Hulk' and restrict these compared to Blue/Black we think?

I think that's just because these models haven't hit any of the ADs yet. I spoke with one today and put my name down, but they didn't yet know when they are going to see the new models arrive in stock.

No, there is no taper.

Yes it does. All of the current steel-on-steel 300M Divers are on the same bracelet and micro-adjust clasp.
Thanks

As @dstfno confirmed again - no taper at all. What's more - I was quite pain in the a.. in the comments of Watch Advisor video trying to really make sure that Alexander is right, and just an hour ago he confirmed under a few of my comments that I was right and he got some info from Omega wrong. I think this should conclude further discussion about presence or lack of taper on the new green SMP. Amen 😉

And a few others...

I watched the video. Didn't want to but it raised my desire to see it person as I predicted it might. Good catch on the bracelet. It clearly does not taper, at least the one shown in the video. I wonder what the street price and availability will be like in the US. I want it but probably not at their new price. There are still a few used Omegas that I'll pick up first and I'd like to build out a Damasko collection I have in mind and posted here. By then, maybe it will be available used and I can save some.

Welp, I, for one, am a staunch Seamaster traditionalist, so I still want my 2018 to be in BLUE. No green for me.

However, I'm elated that they did not bend to any sort of consumer pressure (real or apparent) and release a dinky, tapered, soy-arm version of the SMP bracelet. Long live the SMP and its big, toolish, untrendy bracelet...because it's totally awesome. 😎

Well that's cool of him to admit that he was wrong under your comments.

But 2019 is *just* around the corner
