Dirty Dozen and 135.011: Do these look right to you?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to Omega watches, but I suspect I'm about to fall down the rabbit hole. 😀

I'm considering buying either a copy of the Dirty Dozen watch (which would join my A-11 as part of a growing militaria collection) or a slightly more modern (mid-60s) Seamaster 600. That said, I know there are a lot of fakes out there and even though I've spent some time reviewing the forums here, I'm not confident in my ability to spot the differences between authentic and inauthentic Omegas. I'm hoping some of the folks here might weigh in--? Thanks in advance, in any case.

Pictures included: sorry not to have more of the 135.011 but I can definitely inquire if needed. (Probably need more, right?) The Dirty Dozen has had the dial repainted and hands re-lumed, but I don't think I mind that. I notice a mismatch in the ref #s on the Dirty Dozen between caseback & the mechanism, but that seems normal from other examples I've seen online.

I'm also open to suggestions for other FS Omegas in either style that definitely _are_ authentic. As you can probably gather, I like the simplicity of the (relatively) clean black dial and steel case. Such gorgeous watches!

Can't tell you anything about the DD, but the 600 looks just fine (based on the supplied photos), although the back shows NATO rash.

Thanks! And ha---yes, prices. The DD is listed for right around $1300, which seems to be on the low end of par for what I've seen elsewhere. The 600 (for which I've just requested additional pics; we'll see) is selling for $1400. Your input is much appreciated!

I think you will eventually be sorry if you buy the WWW, just my opinion. If you appreciate actual military items, you definitely don't want a crappy re-dial with incorrect hands. Just wait until you're prepared to buy a legit example.

That's a very good point. ...Does the price for the 600 seem reasonable?

I think the 600 is overpriced to the tune of about $400-$500. I can't say for sure, but the lume color looks a little suspicious to me. Possible relume. Then again, it could be the photo. I would expect the lume color to be creamier, not so green.
DD, you will have to wait for others.

On the forum we typically see the 135.011 selling well under $1000 USD. Of course, the black dial seems less common, but $1,400 still seems anomalously high to me. This is basically the entry-level Seamaster in many ways, hand-winding, no-date, painted logo.

Interesting. The same seller (Corr in the UK) has another copy of the same watch (from 1964): https://corrvintagewatches.com/prod...ack-and-red-technic-dial-ref-135-011-perfect/

(The one I posted above is https://corrvintagewatches.com/product/1965-omega-seamaster-600-with-technical-dial-mint/)

I wonder if the other one is more original, then? Sorry to keep adding new info/questions.

As for the price, I'd definitely see about wiggle-room, then.

I would expect the lume to be more like this example.

I've seen these with very good original lume as on OPs example, however I agree with the previous replies that this is more like a $900-1000 watch, although serviced (with proof) from a dealer it would not be completely outrageous at $1400.

I think the 600 looks original, lume and all.

I'm on the lookout for another as I regret selling my black technical dial Seamaster, but I would pay anywhere near $1400 for one.

It sounds like I should be trying to find one in the 1k range. If anyone knows of one out there, please let me know. I don’t trust myself to judge eBay offerings (as I’m guessing that’s where many of the fakes wind up) but would consider that option if someone here vouched for it. This forum’s been useful for recommending other vendors (which is how I discovered Corr).

Thanks for the replies so far! This is a welcoming community, which can’t be said for a lot of other forums.

That white one is awesome.

When I see “restored” I wonder how much of it is legit.

For the military watch you should look up the military watch ressource forum. I don’t mean to disappoint but that WWW really looks bad.
The under part of the lugs also look like they’ve been worked on, case back repolished, and you should avoid mismatching parts if you can.
Military watch collectors value watches which have had a rugged life but there’s no reason to rush to buy a deeply flawed watch.

That's a horrible over-polished turd, I'd never buy from them, 95% of their watches are simply shiny resale crap.

We really need a good image of an over-polished turd for the forum. It's such a compelling phrase and comes up so frequently. 😁

I mean, if it’s gonna be turd, might as well be unpolished. 😀

I think the WWW is out of the running, thanks to you guys steering me right, and I really appreciate the candor re: the eBay watch. I might see what Corr can do re price on one of the 600s I posted, since it sounds like they’re fairly legit (if overpriced). Will also keep an eye on the listings here, though I don’t have marketplace permissions yet.

Really appreciate the help, guys. And if you see something I ought to check out, please don’t keep it secret.
