    Hello!
Once again, i need your help to determine a watch! Your advice has been very valuable before, i hope i can count on you guys this time as well! :)

I am about to buy this Omega Seamaster 600.
I am not that experienced, but everything looks about right. The price seems fair as well. Still, i would like your confirmation on the watch.

    Informations provided:
    Age: 1966
    Cal. 611
    Ref. 136.011

    Thanks in advance!

to my untrained eyes, it looks good - dial appears original and case/lugs are nice and sharp too; I'd buy too just by its look on those pics...nice mesh bracelet combo too  .... but wait for the real experts to chime in...

    Thanks a lot, alam :)
I agree that the mesh combo is a good one, but i am a bit conservative, so i will probably wear it with a leatherstrap ;-)

Looks nice, only the Swiss made (S) looks weird, maybe its angle or crystal distortion

Hands have been replaced. Everything else looks good to me.

Damn, that is quite a bummer.. How can you tell? Is it something that decreases the value slot?

They might be original but they were at the very least relumed. Compare the color to the tritium on the dial. If they were replaced (which I think they were) they at least replaced them with the correct hands. While I'd rather them be original it wouldn't stop me from buying the watch if it was priced right.

Another way to see it is that the hands were replaced during a previous service, an indication of care by the previous owner and not necesarily a terrible thing --- the movement looks very tidy/clean. Do vintage purists prefer the original hands to match the markers? Absolutely! To my eyes, I still rate the watch as a buy as you have indicated the asking price as fair - btw, can we ask what the asking price is?

Nice example. I wouldn't knock it back but I don't like date watches.

Thanks a lot for the answers! I am not sure whether to buy it now or not. But the hands are at least genuine Omega and the right ones for the ref.?

I have gotten some more photos from the seller to determine if the hands are original or not.

The price is around 625 US dollars. Keep in mind that i live in Europe, so the prices is a bit higher than in the US.

They look appropriate for the time. Not a 600, but one of mine from the 60s too:

Nothing other than it looks great in those pics you've posted and that I would proudly wear it!

Looks very nice, hands are correct for the model and, it doesn't bother me if they have been replaced. But, remember that the hands & dials were not lumed at the same place. Google 135.011 for images & you'll see a few watches with different coloured lume on the hands & markers. I believe they could well be original to the watch.

Thanks for the responses! I agree that even if the hands have been replaced, it's not a problem, as long as they are original and correct for the model.
I decided to buy it at 600 dollars, which I believe is a quite reasonable price! :)

    Hello, once again!

I received the watch today, but everything was not as expected and i therefore ask for your help!

The dial has something on it, and i have a hard time to tell whether its dirt that came during the transportation or scratches.
The picture to the left is the one the send me prior to him sending the watch (allegedly) and the right one is one taking by me, where its possible to the dirt/scratches around 3 and 7 o´clock as well as in the center.

I have contacted the seller and he has no idea what it is. He seems very trustworthy and has a very high rating on tradera (swedish equivalent to eBay) and he has also offered to take it back, if i am not happy with it.

I therefore wanted to know, it its possible to determine whether its scratches or just dirt, and if so, if its possible to remove the dirt? Do you have experienced before that a watches has gotten som dirt on the dial during transportation?

Thanks you so much in advance!

Unfortunately if you look closely at the sellers image you can see that they have used a large "healing" tool to obscure the marks, a clear case to return the watch.

A "healing tool"? What is that?
I have inserted some more of the images that he sent me:

A healing tool is part of photo editing software, you set the diameter of the tool and drag it over the scratch.

The other images don't show to my eyes but if you look at what appears to be a scratch in the first image I do see on the second the sign of "healing" now all we need is others to chime in and hopefully agree.
