I know it is not the biggest problem of the world but I would like to ask your thoughts on this dilemma of mine.

I am about to purchase my first ever luxury watch!

Which model would you choose to be your one and only luxury timepiece what you would never sell and someday pass it on to your daughter?
Candidates are:
Railmaster Denim on SS bracelet ref. number: 220.10.40.20.03.001
New Seamaster Diver 300M Blue on SS bracelet ref. number : 210.30.42.20.03.001

Please do not suggest any other watch from Omega or other brands.

Go with the Seamaster 300M ... no comment.....maybe not helpful because of not being constructive
the look, the feel, the timelessness ......

 

Buy the one YOU want, and don’t worry about passing it on. Who knows what the future holds, or if your daughter will even want it. I’d go for the Seamaster, but my opinion is really not important. Yours is.

In all seriousness I agree with Donn Chambers, get the watch that you want. Try each of them on and get a feel for each.

Personally I would go for the seamaster 300, it's simply far more durable and more appealing to me. Best of all its a forgiving watch, you can do more with the seamaster than with the railmaster.

If you really want to go diving underwater, get the diver. (d'oh!) If WR is not really an issue (150m for the Railmaster is more than enough for everyday use), I'd say maybe get the slightly more boring/understated watch. Why? Because gimmicks can become tiring, and you want something for the long haul.

I'd say Railmaster, because 1) it feels more elegant/understated, can be dressed up/down and 2) I can't stand the 300m diver. Hurts my eyes every time, but it's just me.

Personally I would have the Railmaster, I like the simplicity of it and much prefer the hands and funky crown. I’d have to check them out in person beforehand though, but on looks alone the Railmaster wins. Unless you go diving of course.

I do snorkeling but I consider myself as a desk diver. Plus I would never go to the sea or ocean in any watch.

 

I personally like the Diver 300M more than the Railmaster but you can't go wrong with either. I wouldn't purchase anything with the thought of a future child liking the watch. The decision would be which watch I would like more.

 

Yes it will be my decision she will just inherit it hopefully many decades from now

 

Not a fan of the denim look on the railmaster. Do you pair it with a Canadian Tuxedo?
The new sea master 300M is my choice.

 

Of the two the Railmaster is more interesting.

 

I truly loved the Railmaster when I had it but I'd also go for the Seamaster 300M. To me, it is a versatile sports watch - meaning you could dress it up or down. Whereas the Railmaster is more of an elegant watch that lacks sportiness for me...if this makes any sense. Sok sikert a döntéshez

Seamaster, it’s more versatile and a great everyday watch, and you just get more bang for the buck.

 

I had a closer look at an OB on the weekend, and still prefer the understated look of the Railmaster, though I’d be experimenting with straps and bracelets to make sure.
Having said that I wouldn’t say no to the Seamaster, especially as you can get the matching ring that mimics the bezel. Ideally, I’d have both
