Silence? Or is he Portuguese in that one?

You’re a good sport to play the guessing game.

House of Gucci.

He said he had only seen Adam Driver in one other movie, and he played an Italian guy in it as well. Other than the new Star Wars movies, I have only seen Driver in the movie Silence, in which, he plays a priest in it that goes to Japan during the Edo period. So I tried guessing that and was wrong.

Yes. I saw Adam Driver in only one other movie. House of Gucci.

Time for a pint was in response to our confusion over Chris’ post. I thought maybe he needed another.

And to add more confusion, it’s late December and pouring rain! In Canada.

I went to see it yesterday, its very dark.
I'd describe it as a film about the struggles of one man (who happend to own a racing team and have a questionable personal life).

I was surprised to see Enzo driving a Peugeot (though this turns out to be historically accurate) and rather liked Laura Ferrari's Alfa.

My favourite motor racing film is Steve McQueen's Le Mans.

As a sidenote, no. 533 is a Maserati, not a Ferrari! Presumably a 350S. Never call this car a Ferrari, or the Maserati fans will throw rotten eggs at you! 😉
👍
Indeed the customers/fan bases couldn't be more different for each brand !
Ferrari & Maserati built great cars and it's amazing how designers came up with so many beautiful designs in the 1950s & 1960s.
Personally I believe Ferruccio Lamborghi 's life has the most amazing story, taking on Ferrari, building, besides tractors (which bankrupted the firm as Bolivia cancelled an order of 4000 tractors), sportcars for the road which had better luxury than the more basic Ferrari road models.
All of this with Ferruccio's policy of "" no factory-supported racing "" but building better ride quality, luxury interiors and "reliability".
Unfortunately the 1973 oil crisis didn't help but Lamborghini came up with the first mid-engined sportscar for the road (Miura), a superb 4 seater GT (Espada) and tried to rival Porsche with a V8 sportscar (Urraco).
All great cars despite using FIAT parts (e.g. headlights) 😁

Think about all the Lamborghinis, the Ford GTs, the ISOs, the Monteverdis and the Bitters.

Just imagine how many great cars the world would have been deprived of if Enzo hadn't treated people like dirt.

Grand Prix > Le Mans.

Le Mans is not a movie. It’s a collection of shots of cool cars going around a track with random inserts of people talking.

Grand Prix is epically shot and has a great story.

Le Mans is the best film, Grand Prix is just... waiting.

I don't recall being that impressed with it but I can't really remember why, I've still got a copy so could re-watch it.

Plus it has a young Jessica Walter, and she was hot!

As a movie with a semblance of a plot Grand Prix is the better, but I have to watch it alone or get beaten about the head for saying "That's a Lotus Eighteen FJ underneath, that's a Twentytwo, etc." I'd go with Le Mans for the real cars and real drivers who are pushing them hard.

Wikipedia said:
In films, she was best known for her role as a psychotic and obsessed fan of a local disc jockey in the 1971 Clint Eastwood thriller, Play Misty for Me.

Whew, got Misty "carefully stored" somewhere, must watch it again.

I know you have Talladega Nights around there somewhere. It's probably the one currently in the DVD player.

Film was OK, but a bit slow to start. I was thankful when we actually got to see a race car - in glorious Rosso Corso Italia colours.

Interesting to see those watches and timepieces - those gold sporting watches of that era reminded me of my Father.

Still think Le Mans 66 was a more enjoyable film - it plays out on the race track a rivalry between the upstart Ford against the great name Ferrari.
Whereas the film Ferrari plays the story of Ferrari against insolvency played out indoors - not nearly as compelling a story.

Ferrari and trackdays? Here is mine on the Spreewaldring. I do not recall which watch I was wearing ... 😎 But I still have the trophy for the fastest lap (despite others driving modern Porsches or Nissan GTR) 😀. I own it since about 20 years now.

Hope you’ve played the “so what car do you drive” thread and posted some pictures to knock it out of the park over there.
I was going to post my lovely little 3.4 S Boxster but I’ll not bother now.
Beautiful car you own by the way. Love seeing Ferrari’s in colours other than red (but not yellow or white)
