I'm on the bay looking to procure a 1960's 6mm buckle for a 7mm strap that I found. I first saw this listing:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/382132963095

and I thought to myself that this was fake, because the logo tells me that it's an omega buckle. Doing a bit more digging on here, I found this photo:

Did universal geneve use omega 6mm buckles, or are my eyes still untrained?

The U and the Omega symbol are similar. But in both links I clearly see an U niversal logo on all buckles.

Universal makes 6mm buckles.

There is no crossover between Omega and Universal buckles.

The first ebay link you posted is an Omega buckle.

The second link you posted are all Universal buckles, although the one in the lower left corner is too unclear to evaluate, and perhaps that's the one you are wondering about (but I would tend to think whomever put that photo together would probably not group an Omega buckle with all the others).

It's better if you posted photos, not links, as this conversation will be meaningless when the links expire.

In terms of a 6mm Universal buckle, are you looking for SS or gold plated, and what style/time period are you looking for? There are side signed, tang style, and several different U styles, etc.

i'm looking for the appropriate strap and buckle for this watch. i think it's early 60s, since it doesn't have the old 5 digit serial nomenclature.

I don't know that anyone could say for sure what would be correct strap and buckle unless you can find advertising of this exact model. I think personally I would be happy with either a U shield, fat U, or skinny U.

U shield probably the easier to find, although probably a bit early for this watch. I have a bunch myself, but they are all gold plated, nothing in stainless in 6mm size right now.

the only thing I have remotely close is this ladies example, with original strap and buckle and box, but its earlier than yours (this is 59-60'). This has a 9mm strap tapered to an 8mm ss buckle.
