    The photographs are made to hide all the things that don’t work imo. To me it was far away from a bargain, even if you consider buying for parts. :thumbsdown:

    @kov - I'd love your insight on this. What stuck out to you that maybe an Omega n00b like me missed? Any thoughts/education would be appreciated. Cheers.

    Replacement hands and bezel, washed dial, polished case. Possible replaced crown, not a 24 tooth at least. Not a terrible price but not a collector watch.

    To be honest I wasn’t 100% on the back. It’s obv been polished but didn’t consider it had been replaced. My expertise is on the -68, well that’s my excuse lol :)

    I am not 100% too, but it catches my eye so I raise a question mark ;)

    Thought so too. The large slots clearly indicate that. But there is also a pic of the inside with correct engravings..but this might not be on the watch when it arrives.

    I think the case back is period.

    Agree about the rest though. Washed dial, new hands, new bezel. I'll bet his was in pretty poor condition until relatively recently and it's had a dealer spruce up so from a distance it appears a nice example.

    Well spotted and was also going to mention the washed, no-lume dial, which can be tricky to discern from those kind of photos. :thumbsup:
    Best,

    So we can see what the thread is about when the link goes dead.

    @padders @kov - thank you for the education gents. So, when comparing it to a legit one, how does this one compare? I see that the bezel has the tach numbers partially cut off at the top (not to mention the accent over the "e" and the dot above the 90), the lume looks more worn (hence older hands), some grime or "patina" on the hour markers and dings on the lugs (hence not polished). How'd I do? Again, just looking to learn with real life examples since this thread is alive and kicking.

    One other thing, I didn't understand what DON meant. Can you give me the quick definition? Sorry, been more of a Seiko junkie recently.

    DON = dot over ninety
    DNN = dot next to ninety

    Looks nice. That is a pristine DON you have there. The bezel certainly puts it in a different category than the watch in the OP, value-wise. Is the dial missing most of it's lume, or is it just the photo?

    Yes I agree with Garron above. That one is a lot nicer and a lot more honest. The lume is spotty though and there is maybe a bit of dial damage across 'Professional' that warrants a closer look before parting with cash though as that is a bad spot to have a scratch etc.

    @padders @gdupree - thanks again gents. Padders - your eagle eye is spot on, there does appear to be a scratch across "Professional". In this other shot here, the lume on the dial appears to be better than the previous shot, although you can still see discoloration at 7 o'clock.
