There are some pictures of Schirra giving the impression that he wore a Speedmaster with a silver bezel. This one I know since a couple of years already: https://www.flickr.com/photos/44494372@N05/9457832985/ but this one I saw for the first time now: https://www.flickr.com/photos/29988733@N04/9352514080/ and here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/29988733@N04/9351322753/ and here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/29988733@N04/9354097428/ here rather not. I can clearly see baton hands: https://www.flickr.com/photos/29988733@N04/9351314049/ Sorry, but I did not manage to implement those pics from the NASA website here.
but it reminds me pretty much to look of that advert. However the arrow hand can be seen slightly ....
I'm sure I read somewhere that this was put to him a few years ago and he said that he remembers the bezel being black so it might just be reflection.
Well, there's this interview with Mr. Maddox.. http://www.chronomaddox.com/omega/museum/20070503%20Query%20to%20Marco.pdf
No, I do not believe he wore a CK2915. Let me see if I can word this better than my previous post oddboy. Maybe what we are seeing in the images is a combination of both watches. In the crew image for GT-6, sitting with Gus, and suiting up with Stafford we may be seeing his personal CK2998. I do believe I read, and will find the link, that the bezel from his CK2998 watch was missing at one point. From the first three images that does in fact look to be a possibility. In the last image of Schirra walking out the baton hands look visible which to me would indicate he is wearing his newly approved for flight 105.003 (for all crews post Gemini 3) #19 which was his issued watch for Gemini 6 according to the NASA records.
@TLIGuy , thanks for the clarification. I was making a bit of a joke as a member or two here have asked recently about modding their speedies.. misplace joke. Didn't mean to derail an interesting question and ensuing dialog. Thanks!
