Did I pay too much for this full package black dial 168.010 connie?

Lovely watch @Pahawi, congratulations!

Black dial .010s are uncommon, so a really good catch.
This reference is renowned for having micro bubbles on the dial, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Great to see the watch, box and papers all together.
(I know some members aren't bothered but I love a full set)

Interesting to see that the serial puts the movt production around mid '67 but the watch was sold in mid '69.
Something to note for anyone looking for a birth year watch...

Thank you 👍

Love full sets too.

Is the movement# always stamped on the "Certificate Of High Precision" thing? The envelope have it, so why not the certificate too, I guess... .-)

Thank you for all the nice comments.

No, IRRC, the 'certificate of high precision' is a generic doc for chronometer rated movts and the movt number is printed on a separate doc as you have there. (typed in the space provided)
If the envelope has it, then it is so the retailer knows which set of docs goes with that watch.

It's interesting that the guarantee hasn't been fully filled in -presumably sloppy workmanship by the Danish Navy 'Kantinen' !
(If only Troels - @ConElPueblo - was still around to comment)
But you have the corresponding movt number, place of sale and date, so that's the important thing.

Great find, congratulations, makes almost regret selling my black 168.010 last year. I sourced the 1068 bracelet and 527 end links independently on eBay and found them fairly quickly, but maybe I was just lucky then.

I was desperately searching for a black pie pan recently and now this thread comes into my eye... May more luck be with me...

I'm very happy when I pay $2K for a black dial

Don't touch the bubbles, if they burst there's a rust color material underneath

Eventually these will all turn into "galaxy" dials, first shining stars, then multiple objects in space

If you keep the UV dial away from sunlight though, assumably it'll stay as it is

I looked fairly obsessively for a black-dial Connie for a year until striking lucky, and I'd have bought this one in a flash. A full set adds a pretty hefty percentage to the value too.

Did you overpay ? Yes. A lot .... If you ask after the fact, it's called cognitive dissonance. You need a few Dibs .... Did I joke with the first sentence ? Yes. Anything to add? Keep it.
