    No, its quite genuine, dates from ca 1941/42.

    Not a Suveran caseback, but an early waterproofing attempt.

    There should be a light engraving of a case serial number above the word "Omega".

    That sounds about right by European standards. Not sure if they tend to be cheaper in the American market though.
