It would appear that you did well, as the outside bits look fine. BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THERE IS A LITTLE BUTTON ON YOUR KEYBOARD THAT READS "CAPS LOCK" AND IT WILL TURN OFF your overuse of upper case letters.
You'd want to get the caseback taken off by a watchmaker. It will be stamped on the inside of the caseback. While you're there, get the movement number, and maybe leave it for a service.. probably needs it..
OK cool ... I had it opened and serviced .... had a photo of the caseback ... 145.022-68. Thank you again for everything.
A stunner! Nice find. Where did you find it if you don't mind sharing? Auction sites? Brick and mortar shop? Estate sale? Etc...
It's not an 862. You may find that it's just a 321 with an incorrect chrono secs - if that's the case I'll take it off you to save any embarrassment. Just trying to be helpful. LOL Seriously; very nice and well done.
You did well... Considering it is on a Hodinkee strap you would have thought the owner knew what it was. Estate sale makes some sense.
