It’s the “stuffed in a sock drawer” dream (minus the bracelet) but not sure I could go 15k on it. It’s especially nice that shipping is $9 for the winner
Would be better if these pictures had a few more pixels. Legendary watch nonetheless, wish I could've gotten my paws on it.
But does prove the point that if you don’t know a lot about, well anything you want to sell, go auction don’t try to put a Buy it Now price on it. I do hope the seller pays a bit more for shipping that the $9 tho.... might want to at least spring an extra $2.60 for signature confirmation.
Few more pics from the listing and sellers description: “ I know nothing about watches, so unfortunately, I cannot give many details - hopefully my pictures tell the story. I tried to find the same exact face/dial, but couldn't quite find one that matched. A vintage Zenith Men's wristwatch - marked Chronograph Automatic El Primero. Back side has "231E243" - don't know what that designates. Watch shows signs of age/usage - scuffing & wear, with minor soiling (needs cleaning, etc). BEING SOLD "AS IS".
Tachy ring looks like possibly a service replacement. If so, then I would question how original is that lovely yellow lume. I hope we get clearer photos of it one day.
I saw this on the bay when it was stuck at $7kish, before all the last minute bids and sniping commenced. Never before have I felt so compelled to take a 10k stab at a watch I hadn't seen the movement or know if there was one. This would have been such a gamble, but such a huge pay off played right. I'm hoping the best for the buyer...like there is a movement inside and it doesn't need a complete overhaul. I wouldn't have won anyway even If I'd had the balls but it was interesting seeing it pan out. What a find!
Thanks much better photos. Does look like like original Tachy. This one could turn out to be a real gem for the buyer
