Hey all,

I’ve been looking for a gold 30CH for a while and found this one in my price range. I’m a little concerned about the dial because I haven’t seen many 30CH without the applied logo. It also looks possibly repainted? Thanks for any help.

Thanks, and for future is if the condition and no logo? I have seen those numerals and scales on what look like original dials like this one. Unless it is redialed as well.

On the one you first posted, the logo, subdial, outer, and inner tracks all have incorrect print.
If you compare each element of the second example to the first, you will see that there are differences

Too white, too bright. You are unlikely to ever find original dials from that period (other than enamel) that haven't changed color - even if they have been kept in a safe. And when you see a disparity like that of the corroded second hand, it is all that you need to walk away.

When dials are consistent in terms of patina with the rest of the parts of the match, then you need to dig deeper (i.e. fonts, etc.).

Mine:

OP watch ... not a bad redial. Some care and craft went into it. It’s very hard to find these dials. To list it as original is obviously a no no.

Remember that a low price is mostly a reflection of the quality of a watch

At 4500 Euros, the watch is not low priced...
If you are patient, you can find a much better original example for that price or even lower.

It seems like most in the $5,000 or less range are either suspicious or in pretty rough shape. I’ve seen what look like good examples in the $6-7k range. There are some in the 8-10k range but they seem to be a little overpriced. Does that all seem about right?

Quite a few choices out there ... different references too. But while you get what you pay for don’t expect 2017 pricing

To bring it back to the OP watch

I must ask the group here

1) Are there any original 30CH examples with that red and blue track combo that do NOT have the applied logo? (note: of course some 30CH exist without the applied logo - I am asking specifically about the commonly seen "blue and red" track dials)

2) Are there any original 13ZN or 30CH examples with the hash marks on the right subdial like the OP watch has? I do not remember ever coming across across one.

@DirtyDozen12 - thank you! But the 30CH examples with that red and blue track combo that do NOT have the applied logo - do those exist only for the larger cases or also in some of the smaller ~35mm cases too?

Don't know for certain. Larger cases seem more prevalent.
