Desperately seeking....Kenneth Dean

My Grandad's watch.

My grandad and his twin brother started at Heinz on the same day when they were 14 and left on the same day. They were awarded these amazing omega watches.

My family still has the one belonging to my great uncle, but we are desperately seeking the watch that belonged to my grandad. As you can imagine, it has serious sentimental value for us.

It will be exactly like the one pictured but will say Kenneth Dean.

If you have seen it, know where it could be, know where I can look, can tell me the model... Anything, please get in touch!

Only seeing this on my phone with 59 year old eyeballs but am I correct that the date reads: "19-13-1963"?
Or is it "19 13 - 1963" with a gap between the 19 and the 13?

Perhaps put your grandfathers name in the title of the post, that might help it show up in search results.

Thank you.

And yet another reason getting old sucks.

it’s not just you. The photos are so small and poor I can’t see anything. Maybe the OP can take some good clear high resolution photos of the watch and crop out the unnecessary background.

Your eyes must be poor, too. I have absolutely no problems reading the engraving on my desktop monitor or my tablet. The photos can be expanded if required. A phone is not the best place to view a lot of things.

These sorts of quests are always interesting from a personal point of view, but are almost impossible to achieve the desired outcome. I won't say a total waste of time, but close to it.

I can read the engraving if I take the trouble to blow up the image. but the photos of the watch are not good IMO. If someone is legitimately asking for help finding a needle in a haystack, it’s not too much to ask for them to take a few minutes to take a decent photo and crop out the important parts. The useless background comprises 95% of those photos and before someone gets to look at the engraving they need to recognize the watch.

Sorry for the poor quality but it's 1943-1963. Thank you for taking the time to read this post

@Elle-p any additional info or ideas on how it was misplaced? Stolen, lost, gifted or sold? And what potential area?

I thought I saw one listed on eBay from here not long ago as well. Can't find it now.

I can empathise with you here. My grandfather was given a JW Benson watch for his 21st. It was really the only nice thing that he owned but when he passed away it could not be found. We believe that early on in his battle with dementia he took it to be repaired and promptly forgot about it. We were never able to track it down but I hope your search will be more fruitful. Best of luck.
